The National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia is continuing exhibitions on the First Republic of Georgia in the regions. Today an exhibition on the history of the years 1918-1921 was opened in the Public Service Hall of Gori.

The online search engine of the members of The Society For Spreading Literacy Among Georgians, which was created via cooperation between National Archives of Georgia and The National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, was presented to the public by the author of the project, the chief of the library resources department of the National Library, Levan Taktakishvili, on the Day of Mother Language.

On the 14 April at 13:00, the presentation of the online search engine of the members of The Society For Spreading Literacy Among Georgians will be held in the pavilion of the National Archives. The project was implemented in partnership between the National Archives of Georgia and the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia.

The National Archives of Georgia, within the framework of the project "Document of the week", publishes the Law on Appointment of the Constituent Assembly Elections of the First Republic of Georgia, on the basis of which 14 February of 1919 was appointed as the first day of the election of the Constituent Assembly.

Tbilisi State University, National Archives of Georgia, National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, Georgian National Museum and American Research Institute of the South Caucasus (ARISC), in connection with the anniversary of the announcement of the independence of the Democratic Republic of Georgia, with the support of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, on June 25-30, will held a scientific forum: "Remembering the Georgian Democratic Republic 100 Years On: A Model for Europe", which consists of the International Scientific Conference and International Summer School.

In the Laboratory of Restoration of Documents of the National Archive of Georgia, the restoration and conservation works of 22 126 papers and 48 parchment sheets, 1196 photos, 16 maps, 86 technical drawings, 5 playbills, 136 newspapers, one book and other archival materials were undertaken

Three students have been selected to participate in a students’ scientific-research project announced by the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia: Giorgi Javakhishvili – a second year bachelor student in History of Humanitarian Faculty of Tbilisi State University, Konstantine Gogiberidze – Master student in Philology of Humanitarian Faculty of Tbilisi State University and Nikoloz Sephiashvili – a first year bachelor student in Economics of Business Faculty.

06.12.2017 Georgian Gospel-Palimpsest was Inscribed in UNESCO Memory of the World Register

Another Georgian Manuscript in the Register of UNESCO – Georgian Gospel-Palimpsest, preserved in the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, was inscribed in the Memory of the World International Register. The manuscript was exhibited in the Exhibition Pavilion of the National Archives on December 6.

Within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Georgia the National Archives starts a Scientific Research Project for students on the theme of The First Republic of Georgia.

Dmitri Frolov, the representative of the National Archives of Finland transferred over 261 electronic files of up to 100 documents of Finnish politicians and diplomats - Carl Enkel and Herman Gummerus - to Teona Iashvili, the General Director of the National Archives of Georgia.

27.10.2017 The Second International Conference of the National Archives of Georgia is over

The closing ceremony of the International Conference "Archival Studies, Source Studies – Trends and Challenges” was held at the exhibition pavilion of the National Archives. The Deputy Minister of Justice, Mikheil Sarjveladze and the General Director of the National Archives, Teona Iashvili made a speech at the event. They thanked the participants of the conference and awarded them with the certificates.

The National Archives of Georgia, in the frames of the “Document of the Week”, presented the letter of Pelo Beriashvili dedicated to Phillipe Makharadze that was followed by interesting results. Descendants of the author of the letter contacted the National Archives of Georgia and told the end of this love story.

09.06.2017 The National Archives of Georgia meets the “Professional Day” with the Historically Highest Level of Development

The Minister of Justice congratulated the employees of the National Archives of Georgia personally and talked about the planned and future projects. Thea Tsulukiani and Deputy Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze, together with the director of the National Archives Teona Iashvili, awarded 32 employees of the Central and Regional Archives with the Certificates of Appreciation and valuable gifts for the devoted work that the archive employees are carrying out for maintenance of the National Treasury.

25.05.2017 The National Archives of Georgia dedicated the exhibition and the presentation of the book to the Independence Day of Georgia

On the occasion of the Independence Day of Georgia, the National Archives of Georgia has opened an exhibition of photographs and written documents reflecting the history of 1918-1921 in the Exhibition Pavilion. At the same time, the presentation of Givi Ghambashidze's book – “The Days of War” was held.
